Pool Party

This afternoon, I had a pool party. Our neighbors grandnephew, whatever that is, came to play in my pool. It was a whole new experience, sharing water with someone else wearing swim diapers.

At the end of the day, mommy and I hugged and put flowers in our hair.

This morning, I snuggled with Grandpa, helped Grandpa with his golf game, rowed Gramma's rowboat and joined Mama and DaDa in a photo shoot for "Parenting Magazine."

Romeo and Alexandra - Act 1

At the Portland Children's Museum I put on a play, Romeo and Alexandra, attached is a sneak preview of Act 1.

This morning, Gramma said, "Variety is the spice of life." Therefore, I climbed into the jogging stroller and we headed up three hills to the playground so I could swing and slide on the other side of the track. We took snacks and water so we could sit on the benches and revive ourselves. As some of you may know, Oregon is having a heat-wave. As it turned out, it didn't get above 90 today so we are happy campers.

What do you do when the temperature is 107 ?

Today we were off to the Children's Museum to continue my education into the world of play. I have never seen so many children; however, after a few minutes of bewilderment, I was one of the gang. I liked the water room and the construction area the best. What a place to play! When we left, my parents and Gramma were exhausted, but after a short nap I was in high gear. Since it was 107 degrees outside, we went to Syd and Joan's to hang out until our Oregon weather kicked in and the wind blew down the river, cooling us off.

Swimming and Boating

It is hot, hot, hot here but I don't care because I'm busy playing in my Alligator pool. Mommy and Daddy got in the pool with me. It was crowded in a nice way.

We ended the day with a boat ride. Grandpa and I drove fast while Gramma said, "Slow down."
I like boats.

My parents had a good time at the beach and brought me the cutest little rabbit. While I'm still lobbying for a real live animal, my stuffed ones are easier to take care of.

Shopping is fun.

Shopping is such fun; I just get out of my car and run.

Yeah! Mommy and Daddy are home.

It's a good thing that my parents came back this afternoon because quality control has gone out the window. My grandparents have turned me loose on the stores. When I get tired of riding, I park and run. Sometimes a girl just needs excersize.

Yeah! The Ice Cream Truck!

After dinner and one last swim, I was on my way to bed when Gramma heard the Ice Cream Truck. Suddenly everyone moved into action, grabbed some money, and charged out the door as the music played and the little truck pulled up to us. I got a mango 100% juice bar. It was so good that gramma and grandpa could not pry it from my hands. It took me a half hour, but I enjoyed every icy morsel, and no matter how hard they tried, I wasn't giving it up to meet the "bed-die-bye" time-frame no matter what!

A wonderful end to a perfect day.

After an afternoon of swimming and swinging, I helped Grandpa shuck the corn. I know the story of "The Little Red Hen," so I wanted to make sure that I got to eat the corn. Then, I gobbled up everything in front of me. I love cantoelope and corn on the cob.

Playing in Alexandra's Alligator

Since it got up to 102 today, Grandpa decided I needed a playmate. Once he started playing with my squirt guns, he forgot about his lifeguarding duties and the swim/slide rules. Fortunately, I'm a big girl now and I sit on the slide before going down.

Gramma said, "It takes a village to raise a child," so I hopped into my car and drove to Joan and Syd's house. Syd threw balls with me and Joan put necklaces on me. Everyone said I was pretty. When it was time to go, no one was about to tell me to take off my dazzling jewelry. I pranced out to my car and drove back to my swing. "Don't I look sharp in my new jewelry?"

My Mommy and Daddy will be glad to know that this morning was very productive. Gramma said that a mind was a terrible thing to waste, so we started off with a Geography lesson. Once she showed me where the Himalayas were, we worked on our memory skills by putting puzzles together. Gramma is trying to keep her mind sharp. "Does she think this will help?"

When Grandpa arrived, he supplemented my wardrobe with his hat. Then, I helped him put new cleats on his golf shoes. Here is where little fingers are an advantage. I was having a great time until suddenly I was put to work. There goes Grandpa breaking the child labor laws again. I was happy when Gramma rescued me for lunch and nap time. Stay tuned for the rest of the day.
Gramma has time for a quick update because I am occupied examining my inheritance. This $200 Sea Queen will buy a couple of pairs of shoes somewhere down the road. She wanted me to smile for you while I was eating breakfast, but I said, "No."

Time for "Taps."

Our last activity was a treasure hunt. I found the rolling pin in the second from the top drawer that no one thought I could open. After a hearty dinner of noo-noos, three pieces of cantaloupe, fruit snacks, and yogurt, I drank my milk. But Gramma said that was not enough. Out came the Cheerios so I would have a full tummy when it was time to hit the bunk with my animals. She sang my song, kissed me for Mommy and Daddy and tucked me in to bed. I can hardly wait for tomorrow.

My Alligator Pool

My Alligator Pool is the greatest. I wanted Grandpa to hook up the spray for me, but I wasn't ready for a blast in the face. Never trust a person with their hands on the faucet. Next time, I'll stand back!!!

Golf Lessons & Grass Weeding

Summer Camp highlights consist of golf lessons and grass weeding; Grandpa is a good golf teacher, but he has been known to push the envelope when it comes to child labor laws. Anyway, I helped pull the weeds and then went to his shed to see what I could find. Gramma says he always hides his best tools.

Today we went to Fred Meyers for a little shopping trip. To keep me happy, they let me drive! When we arrived, they shopped while I drove my little pink car around the store. Employees and other shoppers don't seem to know all of the rules of the road, but they managed to steer around me.
