Gramma and Grampa had to go home

I'm sad. Gramma and Grampa headed back to Oregon. They said after Gramma broke the dirty diaper holder and Grampa stopped up the toilet, it was time to give Mommy a rest. Gramma has to go back to teaching big people and Jimmy has to go hunting, fishing and golfing. Besides, I can't get packages in the mail if Gramma Rosie is already here. She said she had to go home so she could do some more shopping for me and Baby Drew. Before she left, she took me down to the river to play, then we painted with my new paints from Staples, after that we played house, and finally, we took a few "last" photos. They are not very good because Drew and I were photoed out. See for yourself! I can hardly wait until they come back.

Today we went to the Blues Festival

The Blues Festival brought out the families, the sunshine and the bees. After I got my face painted, Gramma Rosie took me into the big tent that had a sign on it the said something about a petting zoo. She thought it was animals; instead, it was percussion instruments. I made Gramma wait in line with me for every instrument. My favorite was the drums; I didn't want to give up the sticks to the next kid. Gramma let me keep beating the drums until she got glared at by the other parents. She knows how to hold her ground when it's important to me. I had a great time; here are some of my favorites.

Drew's Progress

Baby Drew is determined to walk any day now. I still have the upper hand, but it won't belong before he will be getting into all of my treasures. Mommy says, "Be careful around Baby Drew." Has she looked at the way he grabs me and my toys? He pinched Gramma's cheek and bit her on the boobie and no one said a word. I don't get it! Yesterday he stood by himself and walked around his piano. I think he can take care of himself. The fun part is that I know how to make him laugh and get him going: "Let the Party Begin!"

Fresh start on the day

Drew woke up standing up in his crib, but gramma couldn't find her camera. Gramma cleaned up the kitchen in case we got a surprise visit from the boss like we did yesterday. You should have seen the disaster when Mom walked in. I distracted her with my dance moves, but I think she left shaking her head. If it had been my dad, he never would have noticed. It's a good thing we have someone in our family who has standards. Today, Daddy's team plays far away, so we will have to cheer loud for him to hear us. Help us out by cheering at 7:00 pm for the kickoff, whatever that is. I don't understand because Mommy always says, "No Kicking!" Anyway, off to play.

The wheels are falling off of the truck

Sure enough, on day two, the grass here is not as green as Gramma would have you believe. Drew and I are still angels, but the "B Team" is struggling. First Gramma broke the dirty diaper disposal, then she tried pouring my milk into Drew's bottle, no one has cleaned up the breakfast mess and the laundry is piling up(something about not enough time to do everything.) We went to the mall after Drew's morning nap only to find out that after our last trip, the play area was closed for repair and they took out the riding machines. We still had fun, but Gramma and Grandpa almost got hit in the parking lot. When we came home, Gramma asked me when the cleaning lady comes again. Everyone laid down to take a nap and then two people called. Grampa said the next parent that calls during nap time has to come home; however, the other set of grandparents get a pass. Oops, gotta run, we are having tumbling time downstairs,

Staying with the Grandparents

Today, Drew and I played with the grandparents. Gramma and I went hiking, had craft and drawing time, played our instruments, and I danced to the music in my new princess dress. Drew and I played together in the downstairs room; miraculously, Drew didn't get any owees and I didn't have any accidents. Drew ate all of his dinner and I ate all of mine plus Gramma's tuna fish sandwhich; we both used our best manners. Would you believe it, there was no food to sweep up when we were done. We went right to bed with no whining like the perfect children we are, and left Gramma and Grandpa wondering what's so difficult about taking care of a 2 1/2 year old and a 7 month old. Best of all, we had time to make a goodnight video for Mommy and Daddy.

I Want To Do It Myself!

Gramma says, "Do it myself" is my new name. Today we went to the pool and I met Chloe. Chloe is four and I'm two, but we became fast friends and whatever Chloe did, I did. Gramma took pictures of me in the beginning, but then, off came the water wings because I wanted to swim by myself, just like Chloe. As a result, Gramma had to put the camera away and act as my personal body guard. Gramma wasn't happy when I followed Chloe from the kids bath-water warm pool to the big cold pool. Gramma begged me to stay in the bath-water pool, but I wanted to go with Chloe, and I wanted to do everything by myself. So, I swam, jumped, kicked and played like a big girl. Gramma said motivation is a wonderful thing. I said I want to do that by myself too.

As if that wasn't bad enough, Drew decided to do things by himself also. He turned seven months old today and walks around his play area like a ten month old. Gramma said with our genetic makeup we were born to be independent.

Twitter from Baby Drew

Good Morning to all of my fans. I have some inside information--just between you and me. When Gramma, Grandpa and Drew arrived at our house yesterday, they discovered that the workers had done the dry wall work without hanging a sheet of plastic over the door opening into the lower area; as a result, everything was covered in white powder. Gramma and Grandpa swung into action, tucked Drew into the basement and cleaned up the damage so Drew could play without breathing in the dust. Grandpa vacuumed and Gramma washed everything down. Here's the funny part. When the workers arrived this morning, Gramma chewed them out and wouldn't let them continue unless they hung plastic over the opening "like any professional outfit" would do. Now we have a plastic sheet between us and the dust and as you can see, Baby Drew is just fine. Gramma doesn't want me to tell anyone because she doesn't want Mommy to be upset over a problem that has already been dealt with, and believe me, she let them have it. Don't breath a word.

GAME DAY

Mt. Allison won today, 19-6. I had so much fun with the duck and the rest of my friends. The wind and rain blew in and out and all around, but Drew stayed dry and I looked cute as we cheered our Mounties on to victory. Daddy and Mommy were very happy and Grandpa was thrilled to get a win for his 68th birthday. I cheered, ran and played all afternoon, so now I'm exhausted.

Good Night!

TODAY IS GAME DAY

Yesterday we went to the Booster Luncheon; as you can see, Drew and I had our pictures made with the duck. Today, Gramma and I walked to the bakery to pick up the cake for Grandpa's 68th birthday. We walked through wind, snow, sleet and hail to get to the tallest mountain so we could pick up the cake. Gramma said I was a real trouper on our adventure. When we came back, I wanted to show our cake to Grandpa, so Gramma Rosie said "waiting is for silly people." We lifted the top and Grammpa and I tasted the frosting (several times). Now we are getting ready for the game. Results to follow!

Drew and I are getting ready for the big game tomorrow. His Mt. Allison gear is in the wash, but he's practicing, "Go Mounties!"

Pre-Christmas Shopping

Gramma and Grandpa took me to the mall to do a little pre-Christmas shopping. I decided on the cars that suited me the best. But then, due to an accident that was beyond my control, Gramma said that she thought we would have to go to another dealership.

Baby Drew watched from the sidelines

Baby Drew is growing stronger by the day. When he takes my things, he doesn't let go and everybody says, be careful, he's a baby. He pinched Gramma on the check twice and left red marks; no one told him to be careful. On the up side, I know how to make him laugh, and soon he two of us will be partners in crime. The doctor was shocked to see that at six months, he could already pull himself up and walk around the furniture. Mom forgot to tell the doc that he could go after all of my things, grab them and escape before anyone noticed. Now that is what I call foreshadowing the future!

My new hiking digs

Gramma had a great time at Columbia Sportswear. She bought me new hiking clothes and a an outback hiking hat. I can hardly wait to climb to the tallest mountain with her.

Gramma Rosie is back

Gramma and Grandpa arrived yesterday with new energy and zest. I had presents for both of them. Gramma loved her new Mt. Allison jacket and Grampa was so proud of his Mt. Allison Football pullover. Then, it was my turn. Gramma taught me how to play a game called "Open the suitcase."
I got to find all of the things she brought for Drew, Mommy, Daddy and me. I love my Minnie Mouse dress, my Mickey and Minnie animals and my Minnie Mouse hat. Gramma said I look cute! Gramma shops at the Garage Sale store; I want to go there, but Mom says we don't have one of those chains here. The mall would sure be popular if they'd put one in. Gramma says the stuff is almost free!

My brother is getting cuter by the day .

Baby Drew is pretty sweet, but I haven't figured out how to hold him yet. He wiggles and when I grab him, everyone says be gentle. It's hard to be anything when someone is wiggling all over me. Hold him, don't hold him; What to do??? I can't wait until he gets bigger and I have a partner in crime and someone to blame things on. Right now, I'm the focus of a reprograming campaign. Drew, catch up quick!

Today the trail was full of new sticks, pine cones and ducks.

Gramma said I could take my hat off when it quit raining. I didn't feel any rain!

I'm thinking that I should start collecting rocks, but Gramma gets tired of carrying them. Today I laid in the dirt and made dirt angels, I found baby pine cones, I saw the duck family swimming and I said "Hi" to everyone that went by. Kayakers and boaters were on the river and I told Gramma that I want my own boat. I can hardly wait until she finds one for me at a garage sale. I hope it cost more than fifty cents.

Take time to smell the flowers and walk in the rain

This was a great week for walking in the rain and smelling the flowers. I announced I wanted to walk by myself and Gramma said okay as long as I stayed close because we are on what she calls, "the buddy system." And when I run, I have to ask her to run with me because, again, we are on the buddy system. It's much more fun when she has to chase me, but if she catches me, it's back to the house we go. So I last week, I learned a new word: cooperate; and a new term: "buddy up." There is so much to learn when you're two and a half.
